Destination: Mauritius.
We flew from London Heathrow to Dubai on the largest plane in the world, the A380! The thing was amazing! The whole upstairs was first & business class and the downstairs was economy, but it didn't feel like economy. Here are SOME of the amazing services of the flight- friendly staff, 600+ channels of movies, tv shows, music and games, flight cameras so you could see behind, below, and in front of the plane, fresh flowers, ample bathrooms that were spacious and filled with lovely products, legroom, yummy food, proper reclining seats, at night the lights would dim and the "stars" would come out in the ceiling, in the morning the lights would gradually come on and the sound of chirping birds would wake you etc. etc.!
Once we got to Dubai, culture shock hit. We were only there for a few hours though before we hopped on another long flight to Mauritius.
I think the best feeling is getting off a plane into hot, humid air. Sigh... it was wonderful! The customs and immigration officials LOVED that Dan was born in Mauritius. :) That got us through the line a lot faster. We were now on island time.
We arrived (after a crazy drive) at our hotel and the views were spectacular. Everything we dreamed of.
Off to class...to be continued!
