Christmas

Merry Christmas to our faithful blog readers...whoever you are!

Dan and I had a great Prince Georgian Christmas. Our first! My parents came up from Vancouver to spend the holidays with us and the Nelsons. They seemed to have all the luck as Vancouver was hit HARD this year, but had a safe, uneventful drive up. We spent most of our time watching movies (Wall E, Elf, Star Wars..) , playing games, doing puzzles, eating, and catching up. On Christmas Eve most of us (minus Sam and Nana) went for a cross country ski. It was a blast, and was great to get some fresh, cold air and exercise. The weather "warmed up" while my parents were here to a pleasant -15, allowing us to enjoy the snow. While the boys watched Star Wars, the girls handmade perogies for our Christmas Eve dinner. They were a lot of work, but worth it! We also attended our church Christmas Eve service. It was a busy day!
Christmas morning was spent at our house opening gifts and having our traditional Christmas brunch. What a brunch it was! We had- Cream cheese french toast, cranberry orange scones, pancakes with rhubarb, apricot and apple sauces, scrambled eggs, bacon, and assorted fruit. Mmmm. Christmas dinner was prepared by Alicia. She worked SO hard, and ended up getting quite sick right before we were about to sit down.
Its hard to believe that we missed out on the whole white Christmas fiasco in Vancouver. We certainly enjoyed our low-key northern Christmas.
