Meeting Cole

Dan, Alicia, Chloe and I took a road trip last weekend down to Kelowna to meet baby Cole. The whole drive down we were anxious because Shay and Steve were told that they would be transferred anytime. We decided as late as getting to Merritt we could head to Vancouver if Cole was transferred. We never got the call, so we ended up in Westbank and had plans to meet the Reimers at 10:30am at KGH the next morning. At 9:30 we got a call from Shay saying that at 10am they were transferring Cole to Vancouver. We RUSHED to KGH in record time (thankfully no bridge traffic!) and hurried into the NICU. We all got to meet Cole..except Chloe. The rules in the NICU are no children allowed other than siblings. Chloe was SO disappointed. Well, it ended up taking over 2 hours until the time of transfer, so we got in a lot of Cole time. He is SO cute! It was so great to visit with Shay and Steve too. The transfer ended up being a great thing b/c that was the only way Chloe was able to see Cole. Shay and Steve were also pretty anxious to get home. They only had a few changes of clothes. Cole flew out with Shay and Steve drove back to Burnaby with the car.

We were left with a weekend in Kelowna so we took advantage. We shopped, ate out, swam, visited relatives, picked fruit and enjoyed the summer weather! It was a great road trip and we cannot wait until the next time we get to see Cole.
